| Exciting times ahead with the countdown to the annual Club Team Challenge and many other events happening in Club Dynamite this block. There will be competitions, gradings, eisteddfods and of course everybody learning lots of new things! To keep up to date with all that is happening don't forget to check the latest news page each week, updated every Monday, on our website. For future planning put Sunday August 19th in your calendars as it will be the day of our Club competition. This event is open to all gymnasts (except kindergym) and a great chance to show off your hard earned skills, all competitors will receive a medal. Our competitions are not about winning or losing but about the life skills that are learnt by standing up and performing for an audience and the confidence that develops. Also it is a chance to see representation of all the different classes and skills levels taught at Club Dynamite. BLOCK DATES - New block starts Monday May 21st, a quick reminder to collect your invoices from the boxes on the front counter. This block includes the June/July school holidays which are our most exciting for the year as they play host to our annual Club Dynamite Team challenge, more details below.
IMPORTANT NOTE - We have made some changes to our policy regarding class fees from this block. All gymnasts will be invoiced for the full 10 week block (with the exception of public holidays). As usual if you are going to be away for school holidays, you can let us know at the beginning of the block and we will take these classes off your invoice and you will not be charged, we understand that some families go away. Please note this must be organized at the beginning of the block, we can't make adjustments in retrospect, as I'm sure you can appreciate our coaching numbers need to be confirmed well beforehand. This can be organised via email. If you are going to miss any other classes in the block these can't be taken off your invoice but each gymnast will be entitled to a maximum of two make up classes per block for classes missed. TEAM CHALLENGE - You are invited to one of the most exciting events of the Club Dynamite year! The 2012 June/July school holidays will once again host our fun team challenge. All you need to do to participate is come along to your regular classes over the school holidays and join in the fun. You will earn a point for your team for coming along and will have lots of chances throughout the class to earn more points through games and challenges designed to build strength, flexibility and gymnastics skills. This is a great event as all Club Dynamite gymnasts can participate, from our Kindergym tiny tots to our most senior competitive gymnasts. This year's challenge will run from Monday June 25th -Saturday July 7th (School holidays). Gymnasts are placed in 4 colour teams, based on the first letter of their last name (please note that letters are slightly different to last year, to ensure the teams are even). BLUE TEAM

Come along to your holiday classes in your team colours! PERFORMANCE TEAM NEWS - It is an exciting time of year for our performance team gymnasts. On Mother's day a group of 40 performance team members and parents headed over to QPAC to see the stage musical "Annie", a wonderful time was had by all and the kids are really looking forward to performing their own Annie routine this year. We have created three brand new routines this year for performances and competitions, these routines will be unleashed in full costume at their dress rehearsal on Friday May 18th, and be performed at all our Club event during the year. The team is working towards the Ipswich eisteddfod on the June long weekend and the Redcliffe eisteddfod during the June/July school holidays. Good luck girls and have fun, there is nothing quite like the thrill of performing on stage to an appreciative audience. This year the performance team has also had its first solo performer. Kassie Quarmby, has been busy competing already in solo competitions. So far she has competed in the Bundaberg eisteddfod, Wynnum/Manly eisteddfod, Toowoomba eisteddfod and the Sunshine coast eisteddfod. Kassie has shown fabulous progress between each competition and we are very proud to have her represent us in this exciting competition. KINDERGYM - We have had some great progress this block with our little gymnasts developing lots of climbing and balancing skill, just about every circuit had some sort of ladder and plank combinations. Next block there will be a new under and over class plan as well as all our favourites including under the sea and a special build-up towards the Olympic Games. We will be asking everyone to wear something of their cultural background to help us celebrate the opening ceremony.
GYMSTAR - This week the Gymstar kids will be presented with their first star certificates for 2012. There are 30 key skills that we are aiming to develop with this program, for each skill they have mastered there is a star in the box on their certificate. Different skills are tested at every class throughout the block, so kids will need to have been present from the first week of block 2 (March 12th) to be eligible for this certificate. The next certificate will go home in July. Next week our gymstar participants will be given their new sticker charts for block 3, showing all the exciting weeks we have coming up including some favourites like our team challenge and teddy bear strength week.
